Gentlemen - How do you store your extra R8 barrels when they are not in use? I currently put the barrels in a corner, or on a shelf, wrapped in silicone gun sleeves, in my gun cabinet, or safe. Curious to see if anyone has any better solutions. Thanks / R

First I have yet to get an R8, but plan on getting one with extra barrels much the same as my T/C Encore and 2 of my shotguns.

As for storing and caring for my extra barrels:
After shooting/using them they get a good cleaning, the same with all my firearms, then my long guns those that I don’t plan on shooting regularly get a light coat of Bore Butter swabed in the bore and on the exterior metal, then placed into silicone socks/sleeves, then placed in a gun case with the designated long gun. For those calibers I plan to shoot regularly the barrel(s) are swaded with a light coat of Bore Butter placed in a silicone sock/sleeve, tagged with the particular long gun info, and placed beside or shelved above the long gun.

I prefer using (Oxyoke now T/C...the yellow) Bore Butter over oils as a preventive for surface rust, and for seasoning new and new to me, firearms when firearms are going to be stored or otherwise not going to the range or getting used for several weeks, or months. This includes, my handguns, being cased with a moisture inhibitor pack.

By light coat, as an example, I mean a good light film, like using a small pat of softened butter to cover a whole slice of toast.

Clean, oiled, in a Blaser barrel sleeve, labeled, in order, in a safe.

I have several TC Contender and Encore rifle barrels. I mounted gun hooks on the wall of my hunting gear closet to store my barrels.

Safe shooting

Also, I noticed that Mad Dog has them a bit cheaper on Gunbroker

I installed a magnetic tool bar used for tool storage on the back wall of my gun safe. I simply store extra barrels attached vertically to the magnetic tool bar.

I use a piece of plastic drain pipe (think it's 2") and a silicone treated 'gunsock' - barrel into sock, lower into hard tube...job done.

Clean, lubed with CLP and in a gun sock in the safe. No problems in years. I do have an electric dehumidifying bar in each safe. Maybe that helps.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
