I ordered a .223 Rem barrel for my R8 setup. Before I go hog wild buying various brands and bullets to test out, does anyone have suggestions for what specific ammo shot accurately for your .223 Blaser barrel?

Thanks for the reply in advance.

Not sure if you can get it, but ADI factory ammunition with the 55 grain Sierra game king is absolutely outstanding in my R8. Half inch at 100 was regularly achieved.
GECO also did very well.
They are the only two factory loads I have ever tried.

Where do you typically source this ammo from?

Yea, it's 1:10" and by the way, I'm looking for a standard contour .223 R8 barrel. The great thing is having SO many options in .223 ammo, particularly in the 55 grain.

Its good and bad. I will end up buying everything I can find and spending more because there are so many options just to get the one that shoots THE BEST.

Good luck with your search.

A little tougher with that twist. I would shoot the federal 62gr fusion from it and see if it will stabilize. Is a great all around ammo.

Depends on what you want to use it for. My go to varmint (fox, coyote...etc.) bullet is the NAS3 53 grain VMAX, but it's 5.56x45mm not 223REM.

Federal makes some very good 223REM in the 55 grain range with the Barnes TSX, Trophy Copper and the 53 grain Hornady VMAX...which is essentially the same as what I'm using above except rated for 223REM.

As you probably know, shooting 556NATO ammo in a 223REM rifle is generally not recommended because the NATO round is rated for higher pressures. Stay safe out there.

The Federal/Barnes TSX is the most “hunting ready” off the shelf I have found. Mostly though my 223 barrel is for practice with bulk ammo and I use my 22 hornet barrel for critters

I love the Nas3 stuff. Cool innovation.

My 223 is wylde chambered for ease of ammo use.

Yeah, but Blaser doesn't chamber that from the factory.
