the rifle showed up this morning! i didnt get much of a chance to play with her before i had to go to work so i cant say much at the moment. shes an absolutely fantastic looking rifle and even the metal finish i was worried about looks great! i took the chance to shoulder the rifle and test out the Trijicon RMR which i wasnt overly impressed with. the RMR's red dot seems very blury and quite large to be used practically but that was indoors in a poorly lit room.
i also confirmed some dents on the stock that Wayne told me about in advance. he said when he tested the rifle the new ear muffs he was wearing had put two small dings in the stock. they werent awful but certainly noticable. he didnt have time to fix them at the moment and i need the rifle for my hunt. but hes instructed me to send the rifle back after my hunt and he will fix the dings along with any other scratches and dings that occur while hunting.
will give more updates and pictures when i get home from work!
as you can tell he didn't just use any old fence post for this stock! the rifle shoulders easily (14" LOP per request) and the balance point is about the center of the magazine which makes the rifle easy to swing despite its hefty weight of 11 pounds 2 ounces (per request). that extra weight will be appreciated when throwing 570gr .505" A-frames at 2200-2300 fps. the trigger is crisp and clean with around a 3 pound pull. the action isn't the smoothest out there but is great for a new CZ 550 action and will likely smooth out more with use.
I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
