Just wanted everyone's opinion on which month is most desirable to hunt in SA.. out of June, august, September all hunting right before the dark moon up to it.
Also will be traditional bowhunting some compound going after Plains game

As soon as you can get there is the best time to hunt.

Dryer in Aug and Sept, with limited rain so probably better for hunting at waterholes in blinds. I assume you will need closer shots

It depends on what province you're hunting, Sept is hard to beat in the Limpopo.

Agree with Lee and Jeff.
I have hunted Sept and Oct but the rain started early the time I was in Oct and it wasn't dry for the bow hunting. I would say around Sept 19 this year. Both times I went I was there during the new moon.
When animals are worried about getting eaten they don't come out at night when there isn't a moon.

Aug or sept for a bow hunt for sure. You will normally see better airfares rates in sept. and july and aug will be the highest price for tickets. You may catch some of the rut for certain animals in june. You will have a great hunt though in any of those month with a bow.

I prefer September, good weather, less people, cheaper airfares.

Thanks for all the replies.. patience is the key here it being my first trip I'm ready to go now haha

I was in Northwest Province the third week in Sept and thought the weather was perfect. Not extremely hot during the day and cool enough at night to wear a jacket. No bug or snakes yet and no rain.

If you mainly going to do hunting from a blind in Limpopo, the dryest the better. So I will sugest August to begining of September before the raining season comes. But this years weather is changing, so you can expect anything.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
