After watching hundred's of buffalo hunting videos and buff charge, I found this particular one, very very amazing!
Bolt rifle failure, great reaction on th PH!!

If you have a good one or see or happen to you, feel free to post it!!!

Rifle looks to be a square bridge Mauser. Controlled feed. Guessing the shooter short stoked it. Reinforces the need to practice working that bolt.
A few seconds feels like a lifetime under pressure.

Couple of rounds - maybe three - in the dirt? Lucky they didn't have a second wounded animal from a pass through on the first shot.

I know this sounds repetitious, but as clients we have one responsibility - put the first bullet exactly where it needs to go. This one was too high and too far back on a buffalo - would have been an ok high double lung on a whitetail. All were very lucky no one was pounded.

And could that have been a CRF that failed?!? Asking for an R8 owner. :E Angel:

An after thought. That right there maybe the very reason PH’s wear shorts.

Thats a close shave,...OPTICS on the rifle for follow up--->Ugh, not me. It pays to spend a few rounds every range session working yourself into breathing heavy and time rush and run a magazine full at a 10-15 yard target.

use passcode: buff

piss on it, can't get the link to post

Mine did and now it's the R8 and the double for me.

True and learn to shoot down the barrel and not through the scope at that range.

That's a well known CMS video and CMS PHs are very experienced. We can all backseat driver these things but the first shot wasn't good and he could have easily hit the 2nd buff. My guns would have hit both for sure. Something definitely happened on the bolt gun activity.

He could/might have touched him, if you look carefully the second buffalo shrinks or so it seems

The last shot the client take, right next to him, should be put the buff down, But I assume that the situation and nerves makes things quite complicated

Just analyzing the situation, not judging...It's easier from my sofa ;)

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
