Best bolt action .22lr?

CZ 452.

along with its previous model BRNO Mod 2.

I am so impressed with the CZ 452 that I bought one for each of my grandkids, 3 RH, 3 LH. No longer manufactured:cry:

What is your opinion on the best, most accurate bolt action .22lr out there?
Thanks
I really like my CZ 457 Premium with a Leupold and 2-7x33 rimfire scope. Sweet setup. Shoots great and it’s beautiful.

If money is no object, Vudoo. Still excellent, and less money, Bergara. Tikka is also good.

Brno was mentioned, here is my Brno 22lr
For the Big 3:) flawless feeding with REM Thunderbolt, mild recoil, holds 5 down!

I love my marlin 17hmr bolt which was also made in 22lr but I believe they’ve been discontinued

Winchester 52, Anschutz, Kimber Super America...all 3 of those shoot better than you can hold with good ammo. The Coopers are also excellent.

I have 2 separate types of rimfire rifles that I enjoy shooting.

First is the high end factory rifle like Anschutz 54 actioned model 1712, Kimber SVT, or something full custom. Several rifles in this category would easily shoot less than .30 inches at 50 yds with the right ammo, but because of their light triggers, I'd never consider them safe for hunting.

Most of my hunting rimfire rifles are T/C Contender carbines, Savage MKII's and a Ruger 77/22.

The real trick with rimfires is getting your hands on ammo that your rifle likes. In my experience, ammo from Lapua, S&K and Eley is the place to start. Something with a bullet lube that leaves your fingers GREASY. Start with a squeaky clean bore, and watch your groups shrink as the bore becomes seasoned.

I’ve shot a lot of different .22LR’s and really like the CZ452’s 453’s and other CZ Rimfires.

Hands down the most accurate .22LR I’ve ever owned or show was one of the cheap Savage Mark II bull barrel scope combos that I bought at 18 years old. It’s so accurate I bought another one a few years ago with the shorter threaded bull barrels for a dedicated suppressed gun since I didn't want to cut or thread that barrel. The new one I’ve bought is also crazy accurate.

That first rifle is so accurate I was able to qualify at the first Project Appleseed Shoot I ever shot using it. I was the only bolt gun shooter and happened to shoot the high score at the event. I was told it’s uncommon for bolt shooters to qualify (especially on their first go) because of the time factor, let alone have the high score. Having shot multiple events now including with a semi-auto, I can tell you the semi-auto is a good bit quicker

I did the same thing at the Appleseed I went to. Used my Savage MKII TR with a Leupold 4.5-14x40 and CCI Green Tag ammo to shoot a 245 of 250. Shooting 3 position rimfire and Metallic Silhouette in my younger days paid off.

Did someone say Winchester 52 ? :)

Two, heavy barrel C models and a very early 52 Sporter.

I’ll also second the comment that a Kimber Super America is about as fine a modern bolt .22 as you can find.

It’s amazing how accurate those lil bolt guns are for the price.

I don’t recall my score but I suspect it was a couple points lower. I think only 3 or 4 of us qualified and there were 12-16 shooters if I remember right. The instructor made a big deal about how uncommon it was to pass first try, let alone with a bolt gun, and shoot high score. It definitely inflated 23yo me’s ego. That was a pretty fun lil shoot for the price. Thinking about it makes me want to find and shoot another one

Best? With out a doubt the Cooper 57-M!

The Ruger 77/22 is probably the best in two categories: best magazine, and most tunable bolt for adjust headspace for accuracy.

Nicest wood would be a Parkwest.

Nicest overall fit and finish for under $2000 would probably be Anschutz.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
