AH legend
Being out in Nature, away from it all!!! 'Not looking forward to visiting some jobsite in the metro NYC area this week (the Customers are fine, rather it's the environment they find themselves en$laven.) One is down near a wetland National Wildlife Refuge, so that's always a sight to see! However, that said I simply cannot wait to get back up to the farm for a long weekend of finishing some work on my Son's rifles, cutting some fields, performing stand (roof) maintenance, removing waterlogged fallen trees, cleaning woodstove chimneys, catching up with distant neighbors/lifelong friends who share the same love of the great outdoors, closing the pool for the season and having a drink and a cigar overlooking all of God's creatures from both the sunrise and sunset views (none of those vices at sunrise!!! lol Coffee or tea is just fine!) Most of the work is therapeutic because of the views at all times, but I'll definitely look like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins after the chimney sweepings...Just the anticipation of the upcoming fall hunting seasons (2 weeks away-even sooner for some) is bringing an inner smile that is carried nearly everywhere I go in the interim...These days there are so many reasons to feel anger, disappointment and frustration. I am not even going to list them, the object of this thread is not to get your blood up even more, but to give you some relief, as I have found. The biblical part of it is easy to read, but hard to get to grips with. It says ‘be still and know that I am God’.
Now to the practical side: the beautiful creation is I believe what He is talking about, and there is no better place than to find peace interacting with it with as little humanity involved as possible. For me that means hunting, preparing for a hunt, daydreaming about it, finally doing it, and then the memories. I find peace and joy in opening AH and reading wisdom and shared memories from you all. Finding anything about double rifles, especially with a few pictures thrown in calms me way down.
What is it about our sport that brings out the best of life for you?
There are some roadway signs in America that read: Positivity: Pass It On! So, I believe I speak for all members here when I say, Thank You for your words of Positivity, Kevin!!!x10e23 It may just be inspired by the beautiful nature that you reside in.
