Kinda breezed through this thread a bit. I bought a used CZ550 in .416 Rigby a few years back. It had a tiny rust spot near the muzzle, probably from leaning against something in storage for a few years. Anyway, I sent it to a local shop and had the original bluing bead blasted off and a matte cerakote on everything. That process took about 9 months to accomplish because I told them I wanted it done correctly. I then mounted a Bell & Carlson American Safari pillar bedded stock stock. The rifle weighed just about 9 3/4 lbs at that point. I had another local shop mount an EAW Quic-Loc mount on it. Currently it is mounted with a Nikon Pro-Staff 2-7 x 32 mm (was mounted on a Ruger #1 in .405 Winchester for a few years). The rifle weighs approximately 10 lbs. total. All said and done: rifle was $850 shipped, cerkote $120, EAW Quic-Loc mount $400, stock $180, scope $120, scope mounting $80, and all totaled equals $1750 USD. Not too shabby, now to find a range or buy some property to shoot it on..........................
Plan on using Speer 350 gr for the light stuff, 410 gr Woodleigh softs and solids for the DGs. Good luck and stay safe!!!!!
BTW, the CZ has a 3+1 capacity.
