Good evening all
I’m looking for some help if possible please
I’ve picked up a rifle as above in .243 and I’m trying to find who built this it has been a really nice gun in its day and it’s got me wanting to know more about it before I decide if I’m keeping it or not it’s the only gun I’ve ever bought unseen without even a photo of the gun first bit odd I know
Problem is for some stupid reason I carnt work out why the rear sight has been put through the makers name on the barrel I’m not sure if it was done deliberately of just bad workmanship
any info or help ideas whatever from you guys on here will be most appreciated especially if you have seen anything like this before or have any idea on it ?
Thanks in advance
W

It as sure as hell doesn’t look like any M98 I’ve ever seen.

Yup same here
And the Austrian proof houses aren’t replying to my emails
Gonna have to see if the rear sight knocks off later today

Could be a Voere action. The safety is probably an older version, but Voere seem to like this shape of stocks.

Yup it’s the classic Bavarian stock at the back
I’ve asked voere about the action and especially the safety catch on the bolt no reply yet though
Not sure if Austria have started Christmas holidays really early
I’ve just knocked rear sight out of the block no screw so it’s bloody soldered on the barrel

Does it have the thumb cut out on the left hand side just forward of the extractor ?

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
