Good morning,

Supposed to fly out this friday evening for 6 days hunting buffalo in northern territory. I already have the firearms license and associated paperwork complete and in hand but honestly didnt know needed a visa until kind of last minute. 100% my fault but was happy to hear its on an app and very quick turnaround. Wife and i applied Sunday night, she got hers back in 10 minutes but i had to submit more paperwork on mine. As a 19 year old in college, had a little kerfuffle with the law which doesn't even show up on background checks (have had pistol permit in 4 states) but when Visa app asked i of course made them aware of it. Did same with Australian firearm permits and wasn't a problem.

I got confirmation of submittal sunday night but haven't heard anything since. Tried "tracking" progress online with no luck and called their embassy in Houston which gave me australian number to call tonight. Calling for help on the phone i dont have alot of faith in so reaching out for help or guidance. What am i missing? Who should i be calling for help?

Thanks,
Dale

Dale,

Call me [redacted]

I went through this exact thing last year, but knew I needed to be. I needed a visa.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
