Very hot day working a small creek system.Lots of km's for one boar sighted. Dropped him with the 9.3 as he left his wallow. Neck shot as his chest was obscured by a tree. Not a bad boar. heres a pic cheers Mick

Nice Boar!! I like your choice of caliber and shot selection. Your 9.3 x 62 is very close to the 35 Whelen that I've used on them in the States and on a number of African Plains Game. Neck / spine shots for Boar / Hogs are what I strive for.

Nice choppers on that boar!
My last boar had one nice cutter but the other was missing. May have lost it fighting chase dogs in the creek where they "treed" him under some down tree trunks. I shot it a close range and dog handler had to wade into creek to drag out dead floating hog.

@264
You've got to love the way the bigger calibers drop pigs with authority.

Art I love the Whelen on pigs. My last effort was two for one shot using 225grain woodleigh PPSP. Very pleasing results.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?
