Here are my costs on shipping my dip and pack animals from RSA to my taxidermist here in Texas. Trophy Solutions in Polokwane did the D&P. $1,846. They also do taxidermy there, but I opted for here. Great communication and they were awesome dealing with my wishy washyness. Their preferred shipper is Condor Cargo, but they were more expensive than Badger Cargo. BC was recommended by @Hyde Hunter. Thanks! $1,126.
My taxidermist, Brendon Wood/Safari Life Taxidermy, has a good relationship with Pro Cargo in Houston. After it cleared customs, they shipped the crate to Hammack’s Tannery in Kerrville, where Brendon was picking it up today. $1,305
FYI, John and Cindi Rulon are no longer with PC. Communication was great there also.
I wired $$ to TS because of their credit card fees. I used my cc with Badger and ProCargo as they didn’t charge fees.
Total-$4,277.
Now to sack up and start paying on the taxidermy bill.
Hope this helps!

This is super helpful. Thank you very much for sharing.

Where did John and Cindi go? Who is running Pro Cargo now?

Thanks for posting.

Taxidermy, associated costs, and shipping are always one of those vague "unknown" costs that folks have trouble taking into account.
This should be super helpful for people that are trying to get their arms around those costs and budgets....

Let me add my costs for taxidermy stored awaiting permit and then shipped from Botswana to Atlanta.

Mochaba Developments Proprietary Limited
$5,150

Coppersmith receiving and transport to Taxidermist.
$2,078

Taxidermy with Conroe and awaiting estimate.

Good for them. I started working with Cindi back in the 90’s when she was with Well Worldwide Logistics. Always friendly and efficient

Can you provide more details? or perhaps tell the story in a new post? Is there is an issue with your trophies?

@Pablo Do you know if Cindi went out on her own? Quit the business completely? I used to work with Lynette Lilly a bunch, but she got out of the game also.

My shipment came in the week after Cindi and John retired, Jan was a huge help getting to the finish line. I picked up directly from them in Houston. Probably my last trip so I would call that "crossing the finish line" as well. 13 trips across the pond, best money I ever spent.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
