Are there minimum regulations for bow hunting in South Africa?

So you did not get the results you thought with your set up or was it because of the angle. I myself would just pass on a bad angle as that makes the shot not a good one to take. I do not remember how far your arrow went in to the buff but you did get it. Not sure 5lbs less draw weight or another 6lbs of draw weight makes the results any better.

Common sense on what shot you take is what archery is all about. The draw weight now a days is one of the least important parts any more in my thinking.

It was an oblique ange and the arrow was mostly buried after impact. It was also close enough that stability may have hindered the penetration.
Passing on shots is something you do when you are smarter. I'm smarter today, then,.... not as much.

One of these days I hope to do another penetration test on a Buffalo. :) I'll let you know.

well if the arrow was not stabilize you were very close and that must have been some good fun. I am hoping one day to do a test on a buff also. Just to many guys this trip hunting plains game and I did not want to be away from my group. Darn I will just need to go back. LOL

My PH had to tell me to stop hyperventilating. That's how close were were with one damn little tree to hide behind. It was fun.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
