Aoudad release at the Rockin G Ranch

whats a hunt for one like those go for?
I have one aoudad hunt left for this year.
Day fee is $300/hunter/day
Aoudad trophy fee is $3800
2 day minimum
For this last Aoudad for this coming season I will discount the day fee.
3 day hunt for $600 (that's 1 free day)
Trophy fee is $3800 so total out the door $4400.

Includes airport pickup at Amarillo International, guides, meals, lodging, unlimited hogs, skin and quarter of your animal, and fishing.

Not included: transportation to Amarillo TX, tips, pre or post hunt expenses, general Texas hunting license (generally around 30$Ish for out of state), taxidermy, etc...

If you use me for the Taxidermy you get a 5% discount off of the mount.

To book the hunt requires a deposit of the day fee, so $600. Deposit is non refundable but can be carried over to the next season if a last minute emergency comes up.

Nice rams! Nothing like good genes. They'll make for some good additions to your gene pool.

I took an Aoudad some years back, but it was on a 6,000 acre place in central Texas and not nearly as rough as your country.

The point I want to make is, the Aoudad were tough to stalk even in a somewhat non-native environment.

I can only imagine how much more fun it would be to hunt them on your place.

Yes sir. Aoudad are a tough hunt. They will walk your feet off and keep going. They are the exact color of our dirt here and are tough to boot. It's a wonderful hunt.

what kind of shape do you have to be in?

Edward you certainly don't need to be a triathlete but reasonable shape will help. Main thing is being ok on uneven ground. This is if you want to spot and stalk them. Typically it's very similar to African hunts in that we use my high rack to find them with binos. Once found we make a plan and the stalk is on. It's rare that they don't bust us first so typically there is quite a bit of walking involved. If they dive off into the canyon often we will back out and drive to the other side to try an ambush them. They see extremely well and can hide like no other. Mobility impaired and most bow hunts are conducted via blinds and feeders.
It really is a fun hunt and it's at your pace. If you get tired we'll take a break or come up with a different plan. Really you wouldn't want to shoot one in the bottom of the canyon as recovery can be very difficult at best short of a helicopter. @ActionBob, @Bullthrower338, @Mekaniks,@graybird, and @Ragman have hunted parts of that area. It can be rough but it's not impossible and we certainly will stay within your comfort zone. If you can't or don't want to dive off the edge of a cliff then we will make a different plan. We have pretty good acces to most of it so typically circling around using the high rack isn't a problem. Stalk until you get tired and do it again.

@edward if I remember correctly you are a handgun hunter. If that's the case I think we can definitely get it done and you would be the first to take big game at our place via handgun. I do think it will be challenging but if you can shoot 75-100 yards off sticks with the hand canyon we'd get it done.

@gizmo Or a meat cannon?!!?!? LOL:LOL:

Sounds like a challenging, yet fun hunt in that terrain!

Bro I already told you that you could "hunt" them anyway you wanted to. I just wasn't going to hold one down for you.

I'm going back for sure! Love the Rockin' G. The ranch is awesome.... turkey, quail, hogs, whitetail, mule deer, every where! Accommodations & food are outstanding...... The owner, well that's a different story.

I hunted aoudads down at Post Texas. A whole heard will disappear into that red dirt of Texas

@edward blew a squirrels head off at 138 yards and one of his hand cannons, if I remember correctly.

I think he will be just fine on Aoudad. (y)
