Anyone here ever play Poker- Dr.Pepper rules?

It's 5 card draw with 10,2 & 4 wild.

Anything less than 4 aces is a loser unless it is played with the additional rule that there needs to be at least one "natural" card in your hand for the wilds to be assigned, unless all that are in your hand are 10,2 or 4s.
Played "Dr. Pepper" a LOT growing up. It was the "poker" rule of choice in my Boy Scout troop back in the late 80's / early 90's. We typically combined it with either "penny ante" or "quarter ante" bet levels. Everyone brought multiple rolls of pennies and quarters to scout camp just for poker.
Fun times!

When i play poker, Money has to be involved.

:) Kind of grew up poker savvy- from about age 5 to maybe 12, I remember watching the poker bunch when they came to our house for the Friday night rotation- about once every 6-7 weeks. Once in a while one the bunch would call Dr Pepper and everyone would let out a groan. Mostly they would play common games IIRC like: 5 Card Draw, 7 Card Draw, 5 Card Stud Low Ball, 5 Card Stud and the like. Usually with one Joker, sometimes Jacks or Better called. One of their favorites that included a wild card other than the Joker was 7 Card, Low Hole Card Wild. Fast forward to some of my games in school and later with co-workers - when Dr Pepper was called, most would roll their eyes and groan. I always thought one of the most vicious poker games was 5 Card Stud Low. :):) and my favorites were on of the high-low split games... For a bit of casual fun between real games, I’ve sometimes tried online promos, especially when there’s no Friday night crew around. One example is https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/21bit.com for 21Bit casino no deposit bonus codes. It’s obviously not the same as a live table, but it scratches the itch and occasionally throws in a small win.
Those old-school rotations taught more about reading people than most casino books ever could. I’ve had similar experiences where “Dr Pepper” gets that collective groan - it’s like a nostalgic inside joke among the seasoned players.

Hard to believe how much time has passed, but I still enjoy sitting down for a good game when I get the chance. Those old-school poker nights left a mark. There’s something about the mix of conversation, tension, and surprise that keeps bringing me back. Unfortunately, these days it’s harder to get a group of friends together. Everyone’s busy, schedules don’t align, and those regular game nights turned into rare occasions. To stay in practice and keep that connection alive, I play online now and then. Mostly poker, since that’s what I’ve always enjoyed most, but I’ll jump into a round of blackjack here and there too. I’ve played a bit on 5Gringos Casino. Heard it’s fairly popular in Greece. The setup is straightforward and the poker tables are solid for casual games. There’s also a decent selection of other casino games if you feel like mixing things up once in a while. For those interested in these kinds of games, https://greeksonlinecasinos.com/casino/5-gringos/ provides some solid information about 5Gringos Casino, especially for players based in Greece. They give a clear picture of what you can expect on this platform, from poker tables to other games and how payments are handled. It’s the kind of overview that helps you figure out if it’s a good fit for how you like to play. It’s not quite the same as those old poker nights with friends, but it still keeps the spirit of the game alive.
Had no idea what Dr Pepper rules were until I stumbled on this thread. Sounds like chaotic fun. Loved your story, those Friday night games must have been a blast. Might have to bring this variation to our next home game just to see the reactions.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
