Anyone ever filmed their safari?

Igala productions...... Great folks, fair pricing. Camera person is not a distraction, very professional folks and enjoyable to share a camp with. Give Puren a call, you won't be disappointed.
Used Igala for my first safari back in June. Very impressed with the cameraperson. I am highly anticipating the video soon. The key was not even realizing they were there. The price was reasonable and was all inclusive. My outfitter did not charge a separate day rate for them as he refers them to his clients. I have seen their work on his youtube page so I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Never had it done, but I love watching those videos on YouTube! Just type in African Hunting and you will have many, many hours of entertainment! Most seem to be African Sun productions and they are well done.

I’ve use iGala and Dirk Pieters. Feel free to PM me and I can get you contact info for both

WHEN WE DID OUR DARTED BLACK RHINO HUNT, VIDEO MUST HAVE BEEN PART OF THE PACKAGE. WE GOT A DVD WITH WIFE AND I AT DEVILS GARDEN, HER DANCING WITH THE GIRLS IN ZULU LAND (I WAS NOT ABLE TO TALK HER INTO TAKING HER TOP OFF WITH THEM THOUGH) AND ME RUNNING WHEN THE RHIO CHARGED. WOULD NEVER HAVE SIGNED A CHECK FOR IT THEN BUT REAL GLAD I HAVE THE DVD NOW. CAN'T SAY THAT I EVEN REMBERED THE CAMARA MAN BEING THERE. YOU SHOULD DO IT.

I have used iGala Productions now on 7 safaris. 1 in the Kalahari, 2 in Limpopo, 1 in Namibia, 1 in Zimbabwe, 1 in Abu Dhabi and one in Australia's NT. My regrets? Not having them film my other two South African safaris.

I will try and have them film every safari/international hunt I go on, except Greenland, where there was no room for my camera girl even though she weighs less than half what I do and could probably fit in my Kuiu backpack.

All of my camera people from them (5 now, so far: Henco, Janine, Anoushka, Nadine and Charlize) have been great and not once have they blown a stalk for me. The last 2 have also been licensed PH's - one of them dangerous game certified. I am trying to arrange for them to film a hunt in the USA with me and also some in Europe this coming season.

One camera person, Henco DuToit, kept me from stepping on or nearly on a puff adder in Zim. That certainly was worth the cost. I have asked some of them if other people put in as many hours hunting as I do on their safaris and they tell me no as I often would hunt both day and night but I have not heard one complaint from them over the course of all my hunts and they have yet to miss the shot on an animal.

Very exciting to hear your booking the Elephant hunt. Will be waiting for a hunt report and story on it.

In my opinion I say get it filmed. I try to film every hunt I go on even if you are just going to keep it private for friends and family or let the outfitters use it I think it really adds to the trip and helps keep memories alive even well past our lifetime. I have used a handful of companies in SA to do film work for me happy to give references many good ones have been mentioned already. I’m getting ready to leave next week for South Africa and will be getting this tripped filmed.
As many people have mentioned some guys give cost breaks if footage can be used and outfitters comp daily rates or give a discount if they can use footage as well. In SA I see it ranging from 200-350 a day on average and with good final product deals. To me these price are far cheaper than a good cameraman here in the sates as they are typically 500+ a day with editing fees on top of that.

If you can swing It I highly recommend getting your trip filmed its worth the memories in my eyes.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
