Any Hi-Power shooters out there?

I've always loved the look and feel of the Hi-Powers, but have yet to actually own one. A few months back i picked up a 1993 Browning BDM at a good price from Cabelas that got me kind of in the ballpark, but will probably pick up a Springfield SA-35 when the right opportunity arises.

I know a few guys that carried them on duty back in the late 90s.
It was a way to get around the no sa rules of the new chief
They said they were close to the hi-power that the old chief let them use.
A 1911 guy switch over to a double eagle his switch did not go as well and he went to a s&w da

I had two, one was the 1980 Competition Model, which had a six inch barrel and removable counterweight. Fully adjustable rear sight and a great trigger.

at a local auction i bought a mauser 80 sa (hi-power clone) for a super price 200.00 like new. seemed no one at the auction knew what it was, it has been a dependable pistol thru over 500 rounds of win 9mm hard ball and only cleaned every 100 rounds. not a browning, but close enough for me at that price.

The Springfield SA-35 is the best production HI-Power. Everything you need and nothing you don’t.

Novak HI-Power’s can’t be beat.

I had a Novak BHP years ago and it was a dream.

Another was worked over by Cylinder & Slide. I regret letting that one get away.

I agree.
If I did not already own my original Browning, I’d definitely buy the Springfield SA-35 today.

I love the Hi-Power, I have two, one an old War horse that I carry ever day in the Velt & the other a overly flashy one I ended up with I’m a trade deal.

The other Guides & people in general make fun of its old age & lesser capacity but time & again it saves every ones bacon, while they miss or carry less rounds as their Choices are too heavy for them fully loaded. !

Is that nice pistol a Rennaissance model?
And the ring hammer blued steel old warhorse gets it done on a big snake.
Bravo!

Nice pistol.
I suggest, do yourself a favor and get an original Belgium manufactured Hi-Power P-35.
If that is a bit heavy on the wallet, a Springfield SA-35, smoothed up, will make you smile as well.
They just shoot well.

Actually @cajunchefray I think the “nice” one is the old girl, had no choice on the other flashy one but can’t really change it as I think your right it is a Renaissance model.

Good story on that Cobra, Hyena & a Charging Baboon but didnt get any photos of that one as Client was there.

You touched on what is probably the real reason that I don't own an HP yet; I haven't liked them quite enough to pay the price required for an original Belgium one. I'll never say never, but the Springfield SA-35 is probably more likely.

We have quite a few HP's available here for a steal actually I picked mine 2nd hand from a friend for R4000.00 basically $250 at todays rate exchange.

Yes same here, absolute bargain, all the young guys wanted Glocks & my other bud a bloody big Walther PDP ? As it held over 20rds but he never has it full as he said too heavy & carry’s 10rds in it ???

The HP is not my carry gun as it is a bit unconfortable carrying concealed as we should do over here.
My every day carry is a Taurus GC3 with extended mag 15+1 always on me where I'm going.

Part of the reason I let one of my BHP's go, was to add a CZ-75B to my collection. The CZ was partially copied from the P35 Hi-Power, but with a unique double or single action trigger.

If you want a strictly single action trigger, the Browning will have the best trigger if you get rid of the mag safety.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
