Any Freemasons on this forum..?

Intellectual gymnastics and semantics aside, how can a Christian Freemason justify calling a mere mortal “Worshipful Master”? There is only One who is worthy of worship. It’s pretty cut and dry

The same way you call King Arthur sir in a highschool play; I’m currently the WM of my lodge and I assure you that no one worships me.

At no time are you worshiping any mortal man or other false deity.

Replace the pageantry words of “Worshipful Master” with Chapter President in any other organization…. As all officers in the lodge are simply the elected leadership of the chapter.

God

To be a mason you must believe in god, so atheists need not apply.

It is a Masonic offense to discuss religion or politics in an open lodge of master masons.

I have sat in lodge with Masons of every flavor of Christian as well as Muslim, Jew, Hindu and Buddhist.
So there are non Christian’s in the lodge? I had no knowledge of this.

Correct, until you work your way up to the Knights Templar, then Christians only.

I am...for 21 years, we practice the so called scandinavian system. All the Scandinavian states + Iceland have independent Orders. The scandinavian Orders are christian Orders and differs from the anglo-american system in that way..

However, there are lots of similarities and many visit for instance the Order in London..

Yes, including American Indians and other native peoples globally, because even in the often polytheistic tribal faiths there is the Great Spirit often referred to as “The Creator” by North American tribes.

Furthermore we place our hand on a Holy Text when we take our obligations in Masonic degrees; this Holy text in my lodge is the Bible(as every American lodge I’ve attended) however in a primarily Jewish lodge it can be a Tora and likewise a Quran in a primarily Muslim lodge.

I have seen Muslim men going through their degrees in America be offered to use the Quran if they felt more comfortable; although the hosting lodge was unsure how to conduct the degrees.

They politely declined and stated as their home lodges custom was to use the Holy text of the hosting lodge/land.

Some Catholics have issues with the lodge because of a Vatican decree of Catholics not being members of secret societies; even though Pope John Paul 2nd stated that Masons were not what they were speaking of. I will say that I’ve sat in lodge with many Catholic men and more often than not some of the better Masons I know.

Unfortunately we’ve seen the conspiracy people go off the deep end there have been lodges burned and even shootings.

In McAllen Texas a Mason was shot while walking to his car after a degree, I was told by a Mason in attendance that night that the shooter tried to gain entry to the lodge during the degree but the door was locked.

Locally every lodge in my district has had what I can best describe as 30 page manifestos of babbling nonsense nailed to the front door of the lodge.

My father was a Mason for 62yrs. He was active until his death. We buried him with his 60yr pin and he wore a jacket from his lodge. Part of his service was conducted by his fellow lodge members. Surprisingly he never asked me if I’d be interested in joining.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
