Ammo different then caliber on rifle?

Five trips through Joburg and never had ammo checked for any reason. Probably depends on the moon phase.

I would believe that if you use the services of local to help clear the weapons on a preapproved basis the probability of your ammo being verified is almost non existent, the interest is does the serial number match the SAPS, and you are good to go, my experience anyway...not sure how the service is so easy when you utilize the services of rifle clearing services......very fast and easy with no questions asked or cold drinks requested.
