Am I Crazy?

Comparing any of the Vortex binos to the Swaro EL series is ridiculous. In fact, it tells me that you have not compared these items side by side...because they are not even close.
I tested Swarovski EL, Vortex UHD, Leica, zeiss, Leopold in the field all together. And only with Swarovski and UHD Vortex I was able to read very small words from very far distant.
I will not go with the details of the test I performed but your reply Sir only reflects that you are one who did not test them together.
I don't have a biased opinion. One more fun fact I can destroy my Vortex by hammer and call Vortex and say: Hey I destroyed my Vortex on purpose and they will send me a new one, no questions asked.
On the other hand, there are countless horror stories about how badly Swarovski treated their customers who paid a lot for that Swarovski

Yes that is a Swarovski in the picture with bad low quality materials from outside, in case it was unrecognizable.

It appears from that damage you might have fallen down a rocky mountainside? What does your rifle look like? LOL

That picture was from the internet not mine.
But don't get me wrong Swarovski is THE BEST in everything except warranty

At one time the Swarovski warranty may of been quite good. But from what I have been hearing and what I have read on the Swarovski site it isn't that good anymore.

One thing that stuck with me is that if you are a second or older owner and you didn't purchase them from a authorized retailer then you are out of luck.

That's one thing with Vortex, it s unconditional. You break them they either fix or replace your optics. But the other think that makes me wonder about Vortex is that how reliable are they when there is a online retail outlet selling refurbished Vortex optics? Just how many need to be sent back for a store such as this to stay in business?

Few years ago I heard from a friend that Vortex offered a crazy job offer for some of Swarovski workers and they accepted it and joined Vortex. I am not sure if that was true, but the UHD (ultra high definition) optic line made in Japan with the highest glass quality. Still however Swarovski have better glass but the UHD is really built with high quality.

A good warranty is all fine and dandy, but a warranty on a vision enhancing device that doesn't, is a good warranty on a POS. I have yet to see a Vortex product that is worth the price. A lot of hype, a poor product. At any of their price points, the competition is better.

I had a pair of vortex razors that I gave to my son. They were good combo bino/rangefinders for just under $1000.00. They are much less clear than my Zeiss that were $3000.00 .
The person who wants $1000.00 binoc/rangefinder is probably well served by the razors.
Vortex is very popular here in Montana.

I have a Vortex spotting scope in the classifieds if you so desire... I'm sure it ranks right up there with the Zeiss, Leica and Swaro offerings at just a fraction of the price. AND...you are absolutely welcome to destroy it and send it back to them for a new one.

Wow, we are really comparing? Sorry but Swarovski and Leica are by far the best though Vortex can get the job done 90 percent of time. Sorry but no comparison to Swarovski or Leica.

Not sure if you read the entire thread, but I agree with you. My last post was sarcasm.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
