I live in Dillingham, Alaska. My taxidermist (Jesse Dahlberg, Dahlberg's Taxidermy) is in Wasilla. I am in Anchorage currently for surgery (tomorrow, ugh). Yesterday I took a drive up to Jesse's place to see my 2 soon to be new home additions.

After my last trip to Africa I opted for 2 shoulder mounts: a gemsbok, of which I am utterly chuffed, and a black wildebeest, because it wound up with a great story behind it (and several people have said it's a really good one).

They are finished. Jesse will be crating them and shipping them to me as soon as I am home and the damned catheter is out. These two mounts give me something to look forward to! That's my oldest daughter in the photo with me.

Nice looking mounts. Good luck with the surgery and get well soon

Very nice! They’ll look great in your living room. I hope your surgery goes well!

Looking good. In my uneducated opinion that wildebeest does look good sized.

Good luck with the surgery.

In recovery.
I hate catheters.

Yeah, catheter is a pain in the arse ... almost. Prostrate? Hope everything comes out okay and you're feeling yourself again soon. Preferably behind a locked door. :D

You ever see the movie Hot Tub Time Machine? The scene where he pulls his own catheter out cracks me up!
Nice mounts. Post pics when you get them on the wall.

Excellent(y)

Mounts look good, get well soon :D Cheers:

Thank you kind sir.

Nice mounts TT, wishing you a fast recovery.

Thank you Phil.

Thank you kind sir.

With the assistance of a couple of friends, the 2 shoulder mounts and tanned hides were picked up at the airport and brought to my house yesterday.

I am currently cooking up a late breakfast and doing a slow extrication from crating, while trying to be mindful that I have 2 weeks left of a reduced lifting protocol.

Really impressive.

Great gemsbok and black wildebeest. Love the thick horns on a proper bull oryx. Looks like you are in post op recovery, and I'll assume all went well.

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
