Heading to SFO in Route to Edmonton this morning. Glad Air Canada settled their strike!

Hunting with Cloud 9 Outfitters.

We usually hunt Saskatchewan, but decided to try Alberta and Cloud 9. Met Ben at the SAC Sportsman's Expo and booked the same time I booked my New Zealand hunt. 7 of us going for the first group of the season. Looking forward to a little break here and a warm up for the rest of the season… Weather looks fairly warm, but that isn’t unusual this time of year as I’ve hunted these early dates before. All inclusive package, so no shotgun transport.

Wish us luck!

I’ll post updates as we go.

Good luck! Will be excited to read your report and see what unique experiences you have along the way

CLEAR works great. Got right through. Nice that it is paid for through my AMEX card…

Good luck, Sir.
I’m curious how Alberta will compare to Saskatchewan…the people, Canadian TSA & of course the hunting.

Look forward to hearing a full report, good luck!

Uneventful smooth flight in business class. Through customs without issue.

Stopped for some Whiskey, Beer and basic supplies. Smoke is pretty bad here.

Lodge is 1 hour 15 minutes from airport +/-…

Got in to the lodge at 8:15 and had a late dinner with our guides. Prime rib, potatoes, vegetables, and nice fresh bread. Dinner was great!

Really nice lodge and setting. Friendly staff
Rooms are clean, modern, and well appointed.

Up at 3:00am, coffee, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit. Out the door at 3:50. Pea Soup fog layered with smoke. 45 minute drive turned into an hour. Visibility is 30’ - 40’. Arrive at a freshly cut wheat field and get the blind set up and brushed in. Set up goose decoys. Very slow start due to visibility and a few rusty shooters… Mostly visibility. Really hard to tell where they are coming from. Continuing to make a steady pick. Not much decoying into our spread.

You can hear them, but can see them until they are buzzing you…

More to come.

Looks like a good day shooting after all given the smoke and fog early

Setting up for the evening hunt.

Need another limit of ducks. Rafael stayed in this morning to catch up on some rest.,,

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
