If you're looking boat based specifically, check out alaskan raven guides. I have heard great things about them and coastal Alaska adventures. You may have better luck off boat...and save some money. If you are willing to go off boat look at Jake Jefferson, Jonah's Alaskan Outfitters(Jonah Stewart) or Billy Molls if he's not booked out 2+ years. You may also be able to find what you're looking for on bookyourhunt, Ameri-cana or worldwide trophy adventures. I can tell you Jonah has been taking some super quality brownies, you can see on instagram. If you are not choosing boat based due to physical condition, id urge you to look at doing a moose/brown bear combo for about the same price as a boat based bear hunt.Looking for a boat based brown bear hunt in Alaska. Anyone have experience with Parker Guide Service or Coastal Alaska Adventures? Any other recommendations? Thanks
We are open to any area. Just want a nice boat, beautiful scenery and a good chance for an opportunity for a nice representative bear. Combo with black bear a bonus.I know of both you have listed. Are you looking at hunting the ABC island areas or open to hunting the pennisula areas?
Litzen and R&R both run a boat hunt if i remember correctly.
A friend of mine has hunted twice with Glacier Guides (https://www.glacierguidesinc.com/ ). This is a second generation, family own outfit with an excellent reputation. I spoke with Alisha "Mutts" Rosenbruch-Decker at DSC a few years ago and hope to book a hunt one day with them. Boat hunts and brown bear hunts are super expensive though.

Thanks for the info. I have only heard back from one outfit so far and they proposed 14 days for the combo black and brown hunt.@1dirthawker gives good advice on Mike Lintzen if you want to hunt the Alaskan Peninsula instead of the ABS Islands.
In the ABC Islands, I would recommend Dale Adams of Adams Alaskan Adventures over any of the previously listed options. Dale hunts Chichagof Island and statistically, the bears on Chichagof have been a bit bigger in skull and body size than bears from Admiralty and Baranof. Dale has a beautiful 58’ vessel and it’s very comfortable and well maintained. I have guided all over SE Alaska for several outfits. Go with Dale if he has an opening. He is an awesome person and nothing but honest. He is a former Board Member of APHA and very involved in the industry and held in high regard.
Be careful of combo hunts for brown and black bears. There are no black bears on the ABC Islands so what often happens is that you are pushed or pressed for time to shoot a marginal brown bear that is rubbed or small so that everyone can transit over the the black bear islands (Kuiu, Kupreanof, etc…) so you can also black bear hunt. A proper brown bear hunt is 10 days, not 5 days brown bear and 5 days black bear!
Black bears can be hunted all over North America. As someone who has guided in the areas you are researching and as a hunter myself, I think it is best to specialize for a brown bear only hunt. Thanks for the info. I have only heard back from one outfit so far and they proposed 14 days for the combo black and brown hunt.
That seems in line with what I have found researching so far and that is exclusive of the cost of the tag, charter flight, etc. Sounds like the boat based hunts are quite a bit more expensive than other options.Curious to know about pricing for various hunts. I am seeing $12k for black bear, $40k for brown bear and $50k for combo. OOOOOUCH!!!!!!!!
We are starting to check off some bucket list hunts. Looking at Yukon moose and would probably do the combo with a grizzly with that huntIt’s a tougher hunt, but consider an interior grizzly hunt. IMO a nicer trophy and typically a lot more attitude.
I agree with @WAB if your goal isn't to shoot a 10FT+ brown, I think grizzly would be great. What they lack in size they make up in attitude. We are starting to check off some bucket list hunts. Looking at Yukon moose and would probably do the combo with a grizzly with that hunt
