Airfare rates

Looked at Delta for August, $1600 and change from Pensacola, Florida-Atlanta-Johanasburg. Cattle class.

Qatar airlines from DC to Doho to JNB with extras, and Airlink from JNB to East London and return is around $3500.00USD +/-$500.00USD. I'll know for sure the total cost after I talk with Gracie Travel at the SCI Convention in a couple of weeks.

On the long haul from DC to Doha I'm a bit excited and tired It's been a very long 24 hours for me so when we are in the air, I can relax with a movie, check last minute emails and respond accordingly, check this forum on Lastest Post, track flight path with ETA and catch up on sleep.

Arrival / Depart Doha is just another day arrive early in the morning at JNB has little actually no effect, ie jet lag.
If your flying business, I think you might be for some sticker shock when you look at current fare for this summer.

Tickets and seats are already paid for. It's those nuisance add-ons: ie firearm fees, trip insurance,
I depart 27 April, return 06 June.

Emirates, IAD, Dubai, JNB business RT $6865

Delta comfort plus bulkhead aisle $2250 refundable for Sept 6-18. When I first started looking in Dec premium select was $3200. When I finalized my safari dates it had jumped to $6000 . Totally crazy. I have flight tracker turned on.

$65 in August on Emirates for Business Class

HH

Delta from So Dakota to Joburg, premium economy 3800.00 for April 4 to 15th . add on for Delta one offered for 3200.00

I'm looking...have an August hunt. Has anyone flew through Doha and used a longer layover to sight-see? If I fly in at 5:00 PM on Saturday, the flight to Johannesburg doesn't leave until 2:00 AM Sunday.

We had an 8 hour layover in Doha and also had access to their lounge. Can’t remember the name of it now but was able to take a shower, rest and eat some good food.
The terminal was also like a mall with some great shops and things to look at. I never even thought about leaving the airport or if it would have been safe to do so.
Here are a couple of photos I
Took of the “mall” type atmosphere.

Qatar sells a city tour which I will take this time as my layover in Doha will have adequate time for the tour. On my return getting a hotel room.

This was all over the place nearly daily when I was looking at flights last year but I’ll play.

1. PHX- JNB (ended up with PHX- LHR- JNB)
2. British Airways. They just plain had the best prices.
3. Economy class
4. $6863.80 total for Family of four. So $1715.95 per person after taxes and all the other stuff.
Assuming round trip?

If I recall it’s the Oryx lounge.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
