AH Happy Hour - Oct 17

Hello again all,

In an unfortunate turn of events, I now have a mandatory work meeting that is scheduled to run until 3pm on the 17th, and is an hour drive to Burleson. I am still hopeful to make it, but have to downgrade myself to a maybe.

Bob, I apologize for this late change. I will do my best to make it if meeting ends early or is otherwise feasible to get there before you continue on your way. If I don't make it, enjoy your time and travels!

Confirmed:
@Bob Nelson 35Whelen + wife
@steve white
@Green Chile

Possibles:
@Tbitty
@cash_tx
@Mtn_Infantry

I'll aim to do at least one more update post around Wednesday.
@Tbitty
It should still be kicking on at 4pm
We will need to leave about 5 to get to Waco by 6-6.30pm
Bob

as long as my meeting doesnt run long, or hopefully wraps early, I'll be there.
@Tbitty
It would a shame to miss it after all you did to organise it.
I will be easy to recognise tho.
I'll be the big ugly bastard in a sleeveless shirt with an Australian accent and a beautiful ( be it short 4'11") wife.
Bob

One more bump/reminder for this event. Happening tomorrow approx 3-5pm @ Old Texas Brewing Company in Burleson.
It’s now the 17th here.

Ole’ Bob must be commuting

@steve white
More than welcome to attend.
Just remember anything 243 or 9mm handgun related are to be left at home along with anything 338.
25,35 & 45 cal more than welcome especially if'n the 45 is a 1911 not a plastic fantastic glok..
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Bob
Unfortunately Bob, I won’t be able to attend your shindig after just getting home from our 5,283 mile travel “adventure” across the country. However, I just might shoot my .338 WINCHESTER MAGNUM off in my backyard on the 17th or 18th in a show of solidarity with your arrival in the greatest country in the galaxy. I wish you and your wife safe travels and full enjoyment of everything our country has to offer.

@CoElkHunter
Thanks mate appreciate it
Bob

To all attending the get together
Our flight has been delayed two hours
Now landing Dallas around 2.30
By the time we clear customs and get our car it will probably be between 5-6 by the time we get to the meet point.
Will keep you posted

Sorry about that as I was so looking forward to seeing y'all.

All, see Bob's note above. Everyone is still welcome to meet up from 3-6 although he may not have time for a stop in.

I have not made any reservations, so use this forum to connect on arrivals, etc.

As previously noted, I was delayed myself by a mandatory work meeting that was scheduled in conflict with this, so due Bob's delay I may also miss, but we will see.

Who is still going? I could still stop on the way out of town. I didn't know there weren't reservations so what does everyone want to do?

Hopefully they make up a little time and Y’all catch up.

@CoElkHunter I haven’t been to the US but I’m pretty bloody happy I was born in Australia.

I must say I did enjoy New Zealand but that was a self drive holiday and I felt pretty comfortable doing things my way.

I’ll have a chat with Bob about your traffic before I start planning on a US holiday. But I could be tempted by a budget bear hunt.

Would have loved to attend, but we’re headed to Arkansas as soon as we finish the work day… it’s “parents weekend” at the university, so we’re spending it with our youngest (and 400 of her best friends at the sorority house lol).,

I have a feeling it’s going to be a loud and chaotic weekend lol..

Sounds like it's not working out this time. I will look forward to the next chance. Safe travels to all.

Everyone- I apologize but my meeting ran long and it will not be feasible to make the journey today with traffic and then having to return home for another event.
I hope at least a few of you are able to connect and enjoy!

@Bob Nelson 35Whelen I hope you had a decent flight, and enjoy your time here in the states. Hopefully our paths will cross on down the line and I'll buy you a cold one.

If any of you made it and/or are still there, Bob just called me and let me know he's arrived.

Hes in a green sleeveless shirt with his wonderful bride, and they plan to be there for about an hour for food beforw hitting the road. Go find him and say hello!
