AH get together to meet and greet @Bob Nelson

I’m know Bob has been in the company of gentlemen these last few days but I’m not sure that is reason enough to bestow the title of “Mr Bob” on him. He may think his status has changed.
@CBH Australia
No Chris it's just good ol American politeness.
Bob

Wow!
Is @Bob Nelson 35Whelen softening to the .243 for use other than a tomato stake?
Or have I missed previous threads from Bob providing helpful information on using the .243 as an actual hunting rifle?

LOL

I think I wore him down when he was in the Houston area, if Bob doesn't watch it he may end up loving the 243 before he heads back to Kangaroo country!! :love:

Just received a call from Bob Nelson. He and Judy are at the Philly airport awaiting their flight out. Next stop Dublin. They wanted me to pass on their thanks to everyone for the hospitality and great time they had with everyone while here in the states. He'll contact us soon as he has internet connection again.

Rumor has it: :unsure::unsure::unsure:.....:A Whistle::A Whistle::A Whistle:.....:D Pop Popcorn::D Pop Popcorn:....

Now that @Bob Nelson 35Whelen has advised using 100gr round nose bullets will work well and increase kill rate; Australia has now adopted the .243 as the standard hunting rifle for 'roos and dingos.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

@Houston Bill
The only thing you wore down was my ears trying to make me think the 243 was actually useful..
243s are a bloody good rifle for a donor action to 260,338 Fed or 358 because they are cheap as people come to realise they don't work as advertised they sell them off at a loss instead of rebarrelling them. A REM No seven would make a beautiful little 250 Savage.

@Ridge Runner
The 243 with a 100gn round nose actually kills more game than the other silly warp speed bullets they use but it is still the bare MINIMUM.
Personally I still wouldn't trust it on anything tougher than a rabbit.

@Bob Nelson 35Whelen —it fit you well and that was evident in how quickly you were able to break clay targets with it. AND I believe an O/U is legal to own in Australia (maybe Not in New Jersey?)
@HankBuck
Yes they are legal in Australia so feel free to mail it over to me anytime you like. That was one sweet shotgun even tho it was left handed it seemed to fit like a glove.

@Rick HOlbert
Thanks for passing that on mate. In Dublin now.
Mate the people my wife and I have met in America were some of the nicest most generous and friendly people we have ever met.
The ones we met were just down to earth good old fashioned folk that were had pleasure to be with an know.
They would all be welcome in my home anytime or around any campfire. We could do with some of their gun laws in Australia and some of their speed limit. It was great cruising down the highway at 75-85 miles an hour legally instead of our pissant 60mph.
