Money sent for me +1

Will probably add another as soon as Jake confirms. Kids..... LOL

I was so looking forward to making the DSC convention and get together this year, but medical issues are restricting any travel plans for me as well.

Ya'll have a great convention!
My issues resolved themselves themselves early Friday morning - and along the way I meet up with a young Physicians Assistant (cardiology) who's husband spent much of his youth in the SA Bush (parents were in the diplomatic corp). She says he has very fond memories of Africa, btw. Not sure how my safari came up, but it did. :D

I was delivered directly to her & staff on the 7th floor of ABQ's Presbyterian Hospital bysome very talented EMTs who also visited me at home about 2:45 AM. They took care of me while the senior cardio guy routed in to clear one blocked artery with a stint and take a look at some other issues.

Anyway - home and on the mend as of a couple of hours ago; thankful for life, and looking forward to hearing all the stories and goings-on at DSC.

Hope you heal up soon and make it to next year's convention!

Unfortunately, I will have to cancel going to DSC this year. I will still be at SCI though.

What is this get together like for a newbie to the forum and someone who has no Africa experience? Thinking about signing up.

Looks like a good time! I don't really know anyone, but what the hell? Time to sign up and meet the knowledge base that I have been interrogating so fervently.

This is a very open and friendly group and you'll be welcome even if you do not know anybody "in person".

I feel like I am going to meet a bunch of celebrities (aka African Hunters)! Looking forward to it! Just hoping I have no issues with plane flights and weather. Thanks Jerome.

I had planned to go this year. But my, my work got complicated due to the fires in CO. I plan to be at SCI. I hope everyone has a great time at DSC!

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
