This is my first DSC so I am really looking forward to it.

After many PMs I will get the chance to meet @Wheels

Also looking forward to discussing a possible baboon hunt with Marius at @KMG Hunting Safaris

Also want to meet Gerrit @Bos en Dal Safaris who was kind enough to invite me to his home in Rustenburg.

Money sent just now. Really looking forward to it, always a great time!

If the hunting talk gets stale, we can always talk about our green tractors.

:W Jeep: Closest I could find to a green tractor!

Everyone knows that green tractors are overpriced. You can get the same hunt, I mean work done from a blue tractor at substantially lower day rates, I mean purchase price.:sneaky:

That is the conventional wisdom, which I believed, until I started negotiating with a Deere dealer and found out it is not necessarily true!

Yup, trying to trade off a couple red CIH tractors is what got me to go seriously green.... JD deal was better. CIH dealer would not show much trade value on his own brand.

As for blue, sign on door says open at 8, but they often don't open until 8:30. Then partsman growls at you. Deere is open at 7:30, says good morning and offers coffee! Makes a difference if your green and sunny or just feeling blue all day;)

Best of both...

What are thought on kids? My 9 and 11 year old are going to come the DSC with me (and I think my Dad). I’d love to come, but can’t really leave them in a hotel. They are good kids, not loud and crazy. A “No” won’t hurt my feelings.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
