Africa hunting trip canceled

Hard to say anything better than the previous comments, hope everything continues to improve for you both and your wife’s health and you have many opportunities to travel together in the future

May she continue to regain her strength and may her health continue to improve. I hope that the idea of safari is something that motivates her. I’m sure you will take good care of her, but be sure to take care of yourself, too. Good luck to you both.

Sounds like you have one tough lady. I'd say stay home and take care of her. Family comes first and Africa will always be there for BOTH of you.

My wife went through her cancer surgeries and radiation treatments like a trooper. But she is not wanting to go to Africa on our hunting trip.
We were going to stay and hunt with Cruiser Safaris, Lizelle and Pieter were very understanding.
But my wife told me to just go by myself. Not sure I want to do that.
The two of you will do SA together for now you need to be there for her. Lizelle and Pieter are wonderful soil of the earth people and they will definitely accommodate you in anyway. I will keep the two of you in my prays.

She may be done with medical treatment, but she is not done with healing.

Life is fragile and fleeting.

Stay by her side no matter what.
Bold words on time and on point.

I've watched my chef best friend nurse his wife back to health with tremendous fresh food, during radiation.
He cancelled 2 annual hunting trips to a deer and nature paradise. He did what he could and cooked every day for her and was there constantly.

She traveled with him in the 3rd year of recovery, now healed. God is Good.

That trip meant more to him than anything else on earth.

Take care of your Bride and Yourself.
God Speed and prayers lifted up.

Kudos to Pieter and Lizelle. I’ve hunted with Cruiser and am not even a little surprised. Some of my favorite memories are the prayers over meals by Pieter and the day we spent touring the backside of game operations.

Not to steal the thread, but Jamy Traut was similarly accommodating. My father, not even a member of my hunt, was getting a Pacemaker, my MIL was in advanced mental decline, and so I cancelled out of an abundance of caution. Though I was past the grace period for deposit return, they sent me back a considerable sum of money. Well, dad needed double-bypass months later, MIL sadly passed away…I decided to flirt with cancer (skin chunk removed) and our son is getting married in India. The deposit has been put to good use at home. Point is A) family comes first and B) there are some players in the hunting world who treat us better, perhaps, what we deserve.

Hope your wife’s recovery becomes complete and you two are blessed with many more live filled years together.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your wife's health journey and the difficult decision about your trip. It's completely understandable that you wouldn't want to go alone - sharing these experiences is what makes them special. The memories you would make together when she's feeling stronger will be worth the wait. Right now, being there for each other is what matters most. Wishing your wife continued strength in her recovery.

Best wishes for your wife and your family. Completely understandable to not want to go without her. I would likely feel the same way.

You and your wife are the only one to make this decision. Prayers for continued and complete healing.

You won't regret your decision to stand by her in this struggle. God bless you both.

Hope everything continues to improve for her. As far as you going to Africa alone is between you and her. If it was me, I’d concentrate on her.
My wife has Parkinson’s and in 2018 she insisted I go to Africa. I worried about her the whole time, even though I had people checking on her and called her almost every day.

God hears all our prayers. We are praying for a fast and full recovery for your wife... Everything else comes second.

All the best on her recovery. If leaving here for the trip is not an issue, why not see if there is a friend that might join you in Africa.

Go!

Best of recovery for your wife. some really good thoughts above. Help her stay positive, find that goal for her, and think about the time together planning and doing. And evaluate as able. Sounds like you got a great head on your shoulders, it will come to you what to do.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.
