This was forwarded to me by my PH and friend Sakkie Botha at Mt Kudu Safaris. God bless everyone as we go through this tuff time together as one world. Aka Chinese fire drill.
Been told by my friend who operates in SA that some of the people who are advising the government are anti hunting and so got hunting classified in level one.....
Currently we are unsure on what will transpire. The statement on no Hunting season is vague as it could be interpreted as the declared Hunting season as done by Provinces and this is pertaining non exemted properties and probably does not constitute 5 % of hunting.
The biggest problem curreny is the ban on flights. If you look at the different levels as indicated International travel will only resume on Level 1 on a very limited scale. The levels will probably be 4 weeks for each level before re assessment takes place. It will only be downgraded if infections are at a satisfactory level.
To make a long story short ....No chance I see for International Flights before Aug at earliest if at all ....
I suggest stay in touch with Outfitters and for those who are flexibale be on standby . If you are not flexiable in your schedule re schedule with your Outfitter for 2021.
I pray that everyone stay safe healthy and SANE in this troubling times. We all have a different angle on the Storm facing us ! Stay strong and please keep those going through tough times in your prayers.
I was suppose to fly into Johannesburg July 7 and just got an email from Emirates Airlines all flights have been cancelled. That is 75 days away so it looks like hunting is not going to be allowed in the near future.
Delaying the opening of hunting will disproportionately affect the White land owners. Am now focusing on Sept 15 for next travel.....best of luck to my friends in RSA, Nam, and Moz.....FWB
Mine booked through Justfly.com and they are giving me options for refund or Credit for my June 24 arrival . My PH is locked down at home and my Buffalo has my name on it . He will just be bigger when I go. We will all get back to hunting some. Gods speed to all my hunting brothers and sisters.
It is just a waiting game, I've been in touch regularly with ph and 2 farm owners. Everyone is being told different info. I hope the rest of this wonderful community is able to smoothly reschedule their trips
Just had my Lufthansa flights canceled this we6. Full refund. My buddies Air Canada actually called him and told him his June 12th was canceled. They said they would not be flying till July 27th and no promises then. Two Safaris in one!
On this subject I know Delta for eg has given clients 24 months to rebook. I am a little apprehensive on this issue taking into account that some airlines will not live through this episode.
I would rather take a refund. I know of people that took a refund and then booked tickets for later at half tge price .
It is also not a reasonable optio for someone thats on a once in a lifetime trip and the airline he had booking with changes routes for eg . That means he has to pay for a ticket with someone else and then he would not have any use for the credit with the other airline !
We have been through a lot in the past and will get through this one too !
As it currently stands I doubt any international hunters would be able to fly in before September.
Level 4 hunting/culling can go ahead but only within a province meaning that you can only hunt in your local province you reside. Paperwork needed to travel proof of permit etc.
Level 3 will be easier to hunt for locals but still no province border crossing.
Level 2 Cross boarder movenment will start but Not from Gauteng, Western Cape and KZN high effected areas movement to less affected areas not allowed.
This is what I can make out from all the documentation going around.
I'm in Construction (Paint Contractor) at level 2 unless I have urgent critical work we are stuck in lockdown untill level 2 is announced .
It is bad for everyone nobody except the chinese is coming out of this one smiling.
Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?
