Ontario Hunter
AH legend
Personally, I think hunting Africa can be much more affordable and definitely more rewarding than hunting as a non-resident in the American West. No need to wait years stacking up expensive points for an expensive tag and then drive several days only to find the hunting district overrun with ATVs and SxSs. There's an offer on here now for a week's GUIDED hunting and five very good plains game animals for less than $5K. Compare that to Montana where after years of applying to accumulate points, ONE elk tag still costs $1,700. It would not be unusual to spend a week hunting and not see one. But you WILL see game in Africa. Lots of it. Much better bang for the buck.I think there are a few of us out here getting ready for our first trip. It’s not an easy sport to jump in to though (relatively speaking).
A lot of reading. A lot of investment.
Very appreciative of this forum.
Africa is the future of hunting I think. It will be if some semblance of political stability can be achieved.
