Adult onset hunter prepping for Uganda

I have my first Uganda cape buffalo hunt booked for next March. It is with Worldwide Trophy Adventures, Tim Herald is the owner. I do know I have to have a yellow fever vaccine, which I just recently took. I am also doing Hep A and will do typhoid before I go. There appear to be buffalo and more buffalo there to hunt, wish I could share more information with you. I had hoped to take my double rifle, but based on what I have seen online in videos I will opt to take my 375 H&H bolt rifle.
My apologies to Mark Peterson, who is the majority owner of WTA, I thought it was Tim Herald. Next time I will do my homework before making statements of ownership. Tim is the Senior Consultant and he has been wonderful in helping me put this trip together, certainly looking forward to hunting Uganda for buffalo.

Welcome to you! Sounds like an adventure in the making! Good hunting to you!

Welcome from a fellow Utahn-have always wanted to do a big hunt in Uganda. Enjoy the planning and preparation and get in lots of practice off sticks. Good luck!
Rock on! Where are you in Utah? I grew up in Ogden but live in Provo now

Welcome to AH. Nice to have you as part of our community. Enjoy the forum, it's very addicting!

Welcome and look forward to your participation!

Welcome! I'd echo the A Frame or Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullet recommendations. And practice shooting off sticks! Can't emphasize this enough!! If you can get set up to shoot 25, 50, and 100 yard targets in quick succession. And do it in reverse. All standing and shooting off sticks. Transitioning quickly between shots.

Will you be targeting Nile Buffalo or the common cape buffalo? Or one of each;)

Welcome!

I suggest you read @JES Adventures hunt report from his Uganada hunt and then PM him to get even more info.

Welcome Swedishboa, all good advice on bullet selection. Be sure and pack rain gear! Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.

Welcome! Enjoy your hunt!!

Welcome and good luck, I’ve always wanted to hunt in Uganda, 2 models of buffalo and bushbuck, a couple of tiny tens and giant impala. What’s not to like! Out of curiosity: what does your company import from Uganda?

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
