Abercrombie Fitch .270 Win, Mauser action rifle, manufactured in Belgium, by Dumoulin. The rifle is in excellent condition, has a high luster finish, and the barrel is engraved with the Abercrombie and Fitch name as well as Beverly Hills California… Dumoulin… You can clearly see the engraving in the photographs.

It has dual crossbolts and a jeweled bolt, gorgeous, high luster bluing, a crisp trigger, original AF hard case with red velvet interior. The stock of this rifle is a little longer than standard factory stock lengths, today. This one has a trigger pull of 15 inches. (By the way: One key on my keyboard stopped working today. That is the reason I can’t type the “and” sign in this ad, the way it is used in the Abercrombie “and” Fitch name.)

This is one of the last rifles made for Abercrombie and Fitch. There’s no way to know if it is the very last rifle made for them, but based on when and where it was originally sold, it must be one of the last, before the company ceased doing business. Yes, the company has since been resurrected as a clothing brand, but we’re talking about the glory days of Abercrombie and Fitch, here.

The scopes seen in the photos is NOT included in the sale of this rifle, however, I am including a complete set of Leupold quick release bases and rings, and just the bases for Talley Rings. The first several photos I’m posting, were taking by me, after purchasing it, and some from just a few days ago. I will also post some screen shots from the original advertisement on AH, which is where I originally purchased it.

I purchased this rifle through a classified on AH, from Rookhawk, who is a well-known and active member on AH, in September 2021. I asked him if I could mention that fact, in order to help potential buyers have confidence in the legitimacy of this rifle advertisement from me. Since purchasing it, I took it to the range once, and fired one box of ammunition through it. Since then, I’ve only taken it out to admire its beauty, show it to friends, and put it away again. Rookhawk had fired only 5 shots through the rifle, and the original owner never fired it. Therefore, it’s reasonable to state, this rifle has only been fired 25 times. The reason I’ve decided to sell it, is because I’m working on opening a small business, and I am simply trying to raise some more capital. Unfortunately, some items I like, but don’t need, should be sold.

You are welcome to do a search on our AH forum to read through the advertisement posted by rookhawk, from which I ultimately purchased it. You can see my username was posted by rookhawk, as the person who purchased the rifle from him, and then compare it to my username here. Then take note of my history of posting on AF forums and classifieds.

I paid $2700 to rookhawk for the purchase of this rifle, plus transfer fees, as well. I’m convinced it is worth a lot more than that, but I’m trying to raise capital for my business, so I’m willing to sell it for the same as I paid for it, $2,700 firm. So, for just $2,700, you get the rifle, AF hard case, and Leupold quick release bases and rings. I’m very cautious with regard to being scammed, so please don’t be offended as I want to be sure everyone is protected in the process.

A little history about Abercrombie “and” Fitch which I obtained from Rookhawk follows: Abercrombie “and” Fitch, in an attempt to save the brand, opened one store in Beverly Hills, CA, at the end of their storied history, circa 1978. Several Hollywood elites bought their rifles from this store before going on hunts. This rifle was made for the Beverly Hills store, but was then transferred to Oshman’s Sporting Goods (the A and F parent) and sold in 1981 to it’s first owner.

Thank you for your interest. Post a reply or DM me with any specific questions you have.

Well, I just found out, I need surgery, so my firm price needs to become flexible. Does anyone have an interest in the rifle, QR rings, and A&F case for a total of $2,500

That's a steal for such a nice rifle. And with a custom fitted case.

The rifle is in Whiteland, Indiana, in case anyone wants to arrange to view it in person. It's beautiful. I don't want to sell it, but I need to.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
