@Hunter-Habib is one of my dearest friends and mentors who has taught me so very much! It is so rare and who amongst us can lay claim to taking not one but three man eating tigers in our life time!!! I highly recommend his book Baagh Skirari book which translates The last tiger hunter. Golam is a tribute to us all. As for me I am honored and privileged to call him my friend!!!!!

Thank you everybody for your kind appreciation. You are the perfect admirers of a most imperfect human being such as myself. I am genuinely touched by this heartfelt post.

I assure you all. I'm nothing special. Just your average everyday guy who has been fortunate enough to exploit a lot of unique hunting opportunities over the years (mostly through sheer luck or happenstance).

Rather than think highly of me, I will be much more happy if each of you plays your part (regardless of how trivial) in contributing to international hunting legalization & conservation efforts. In order to make sure that the hunting, wild game & forests that we all hold so dear to our hearts remains open to our kind for the foreseeable future.

Recently, a very dear friend (and member of these forums) was involved in getting hunting relegalized in Angola. And nothing could make me happier.

Remember that we are hunters. First & foremost, the responsibility of wilderness conservation falls upon our shoulders. Because of our unique consumptive (but not abusive) relationship with wildlife, we are the only ones who care about what happens to the forests of all our nations.

I get the feeling after reading his book. That another book needs to be written on Golam’s African exploits.
Actually young Shaiaz (the co-author of my autobiography) really wants to collaborate with me to publish a second book regarding my African adventures, titled "A Shikari On Safari". I have full confidence in the young man and agreed to the project. He completed penning down the segments on my 1970s era safaris to Kenya, Botswana, Rhodesia & Tanzania. But then, the civil war in Bangladesh began and I got elected by the new government as the current IGF so we all got a little bit busy.

I told Shaiaz that we will return to this project after my tenure as IGF comes to an end (hopefully next year when a younger & more qualified IGF gets elected). I do not feel comfortable to have accounts of my recreational hunts published while I hold a government job (there are always those kinds of people who start criticizing you by saying things like "He must have been involved in some serious corruption in order to be able to successfully afford so many African Safaris over the years"). Also, I would like the book only to be published after I successfully hunt my life's first rhinoceros and complete the African Big Five.

He also wants to collaborate with me to publish another book that details my hunts in Thailand, Malaysia & Japan. Titled "Shikar Tales From The Oriental Bush". So let's see how that pans out, as well.

If anyone has an extra copy of his book I would like to purchase one. It sounds like a great read.
I’m interested too , I m still working on my collection of hunting books on Africa and the
Sub continent

Golam is indeed a gem..I have had the pleasure of talking to him byprivate messages here the last 2 years..he is a treasure trove regarding hunting Africa and India and firearms...he has 50 years of hunting experience in Africa.. (!).

@Hunter-Habib has been VERY generous with his time to me offline...such a high quality, generous spirit. I would love to get a copy of your book and be on your list for the next publication.
