Welcome to AH From Sweden!

Welcome aboard Mvh Peter. You are most certainly correct in thinking / understanding that AH is the best site for guys and gals interested in hunting Africa, big bore rifles and shooting in general. What have you hunted in Sweden? What caliber rifles do you own? Please don't worry about your English, it will not be critiqued or criticized.

Shootist 43,thank you sir.
I live in the southern part of Sweden, and down here the most common species to be hunted is Wildbore, that hawe had an explosion in numbers the 30 odd years I've been hunting.
Other game that I hunt is Rodeer Fox some Fallowdeer and occasionally Moose, that has dropped in number's since I started hunting.
Caliber wise I used to own 6,5 swede and own 22lr 22-250 308 30-06 9,3/57 375hh that I have owned a few of and finally a 505 Gibbs. And of course a shotgun that I can't hit anything with!
Another big interest is reloading, something that is absolutely necessary in Sweden if you own something little bigger, ammo prices is really high here (I think that a few years back a factory load for a Gibbs went for roughly 25 dollars.)

Best regards Peter

Peter, I live in Michigan and normally hunt Whitetail deer. My favorite rifle for that activity is a 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser. I own quite a few of them, including one built at Mauser's Obendorf Factory in 1896 and several built by Husqvarna in the 1940(s). I've taken a 6.5 X 55 Swede to Africa on two separate occasions. I too do a lot of reloading for a number of different rifle and pistol calibers.

Välkommen hit önskar en annan jägare i södra Sverige!

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
