I think negative (truthful) reports are just as important as positive reports. When researching an outfitter, or any product for that matter, I will always skip through until I can find a negative review(s). I want to know the good the bad and the ugly, but I mostly I want to see how it was handled from both sides. I believe that outcome will tell as much about the outfitter and person writing the report as anything. Cant make everyone happy all the time, but how that is handled speaks volumes.
I have been on most of the hunting and outdoor forums over the years. AH is the only one I have stayed with, visit regularly, and support because I believe the vast amount of positive information that is provided here is invaluable to the hunting community world wide, I enjoy the information, and the community that provides it.
I have also been on FB for many years and I am a Moderator on a lively local community forum page. FB is an amazing tool. It's a great way to connect with friends and family and share with them almost instantly things that we would never be able otherwise. A single post can reach hundreds / thousands of people in minutes regardless of truth or context. It can be used to inform, help, educate, entertain, and it can be a weapon. Because of that, it brings out the keyboard warriors that can and will post stuff with out verifying, thinking, or caring about the consequences of what they post. We have to be able to sift through all of that for it to make any sense. Folks that can't or won't do that sifting don't stay stay very long or don't participate much and I don't blame them one bit.
All that said, I didnt see the post that TT is referring. I am probably not on that page (there are several) or I just missed it. But it sounds the the individual that posted the comment likely didn't understand the role of AH and the relationship between AH and the Sponsoring Outfitter, or his reply was poorly written. Either way Social Media is hard, but it's here to stay.....
