”Allow your passion to become your purpose and it will one day become your profession”
Greetings from the young hunter Eben Otto Lategan! A South African PH who shares his experiences - with his hunting rifle loaded with Norma in caliber 7x57 Mauser.
Interior ballistics is a term describing the process from the firing of the primer to the moment when the bullet leaves the barrel. It is extremely important to have the ignition and burning of the powder uniform from shot to shot. Consequently, we combine the right primer with the right powder in every load. By doing this, we keep the pressure at given limits and achieve best accuracy and velocity as well as reduced recoil.
TIPSTRIKE™ is developed for stopping power, combined with a penetration deep enough to reach the vital organs of the game. The polymer tip assures the expansion and gives a devastating shock effect due to the construction of the bullet jacket.
STEEL MAX SPORT 24 is a classic steel ammunition for sport shooting when you shoot Skeet, Nordic Trap and Sporting. Because of the slow burning powder, the recoil is reduced to a comfortable level, allowing for long practice rounds with lots of shooting.
This diagram shows the expansion depending on caliber and shooting distance. The speed influences the expansion of a copper bullet more than for a soft nose bullet.
The ECOSTRIKE has a high BC and is designed with this in mind.
The mushroomed bullens were shot in ballistic gelantine.
Environmental thinking is with us throughout the production of Norma's products. One of the topics we have been working on is reducing the need for rinsing water for our annealing furnaces.
Since almost three years back, incoming seawater is pumped through a new treatment plant before it goes on to our processes. This has resulted in a major improvement and more even water quality throughout the year.
In 2013, 506 liters per 1000 cartridge cases were consumed, during 2019 until September we have consumed 241 liters per 1000 cartridge cases manufactured.
In other words, we have succeeded in a major environmental improvement through a smaller resource requirement of seawater, and less need for purification chemicals in our internal treatment plant.
“A circuit board is a very complex product, which is easy to make, and a cartridge of ammunition is a simple product, which is difficult to produce.”
Nothing could be more true. A cartridge is put together using many variables, and they have to be tuned to perfection for each batch and each production run.
Hi Roklok

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.
