I am a Norma direct dealer (Beretta Holdings).
For the life of me I can't understand why Norma loads 12 factory loads but doesn't import any 9.3x62.
Get this...They have a "Whitetail" load...but don't import it into the US.
My rep even brought it up in a meeting and was told that they just dont...
But they import 7.7 Japanese.

Norma has a very good market in Europe for 9,3x62 factory loads and with that also for the "whitetail" loads of this cartridge, perhaps because of the white tail deer population in Finnland. On the other side, there is little to no market for the cartridge 7,7 Japanese in Europe, different than in North America.

Not to high jack your thread, but, I wish they made and exported other cartridges as well. They only make the 416 Taylor with a solid, I think a 416 Oryx bullet would be the bomb on just about anything walking.

That’s both funny & odd … “we have a whitetail load but USA cannot have it!”

I can understand the 7.7 Japanese, if not for USA there would be very few of these rifles around the world… I’ve got one my grandfather brought back from Sai Pan.

Prior to the COVID BS, Norma 9.3x62 was available here in the U.S. I still have 3 boxes of 286gr Oryx stashed away. Are you saying there are no plans to begin importing again? Disappointing if that is the case.

There is a bunch of Norma ammunition I used but it’s no longer available or they say discontinued, mainly smaller caliber stuff in .270 & .308 , 6.5cm
I had to buy a whole case of 150gr 270 oryx after waiting 6 months
.308 medium game discontinued:(
So it’s no wonder 9.3x62 ( which was a staples in the cabinet when I was a child)
Let’s hope we see 270win 130 oryox again

Grafs has the 150 oryx and 130 whitetail 270 in stock.

Seems very strange to me.
Seems a bit arse about but maybe there's a logical reason behind it.
Making whitetail ammo and not selling it to a country it was designed for seems like the the ford factory building fords then exporting Chevy's to Canada. Makes no sense.
You never know someone in the Blue Ridge mountains may just need to stock up on 7.7 Japanese ammo for the rifle his grandpappy brung back from Okinawa.

Norma Whitetail ammunition is common and available in many stores in Canada.

I would love to get my hands on some 286 grain 9.3x62 Norma ammo. Mabey you could convince Norma to do a special import to offer on AH.

I made an error in my assumption. After doing a search, It appears that the 9.3x62 Norma Whitetail ammo is not imported into Canada either. I have been using their Oryx ammo, a very good product.
