ok thanks will give them a go, but after those .270`s ( got some sako ammo and had it zeroed in 4 or 5 shots)and peteg experiences with them in his .300wm i am very dubious of this make.

I used PRVI to zero my scope and it only took 5 rounds to get it there and the next 3 shot group was 1.5 inches which was quite acceptable to me. Shot my first buck with them DRT.

Hi guys.
I think that the cartridges from PRVI are bad.
My rifles do not like this ammunition.
I use RWS, NORMA and Hornady.

Old fashioned maybe but the north American game I have shot with them didn't seem to notice.

Yes, sure, it's the same in Europa with our games, but here I speak about Africa Hunts.
Maybe a good choice ? Norma offers : Oryx 325grs ... I think we can trust in it. isn't it?

I've only seen Norma Oryx 9.3mm 325 grain component bullets available for purchase in the USA. I've bever seen Norma loaded ammunition with 9.3mm 325 grain Oryx bullets available for purchase in the USA.

Same with Norma Oryx 7X64mm Brenneke. Only 7mm 156 grain and 170 grain component bullets for sale in the USA. I have found Norma 7X64mm Brenneke 160 grain Tipstrike and 140 grain Ecostrike loaded ammunition available for sale in the USA.

Reed's Ammunition and Research offers 9.3X62mm ammunition loaded with the PPU 286 grain soft point at 2350 fps and the 285 grain Hornady spire point at 2400 fps. They've told me they can duplicate Norma's published muzzle velocity for 156 & 170 grain Oryx 7X64mm ammunition so I'm confident they could duplicate Norma's published muzzle velocity of 2200 fps (670 m/s) in 9.3X62mm loaded with the 325 grain Oryx bullet, and can probably increase that muzzle velocity to some degree if desired.

Here, in Europa we use RWS or Brenneke TUG/UNI for very large game like Attila Boar Turkey [293 grs, 2428fps] Evo [290grs, 2395fps], very closed to .375H&H, Norma from 231 to 285 grs , GECO (owner RWS) 255grs-2559fps, Sako, Sologne and Hornady, Federal.
Longtime ago I was owner of an 9.3x64 Brenneke .... only 2 manufacturers today, better than the .375H&H. The 9.3x66 (Sako) called 370 Mag at your country is not used : proprietary and the difference with the 9.3x62 is small.
35 Whelen is ligth vs 9.3x62, .338WM is a good competitor but needs a 24" barrel, 9.3x62 is quite right with a 20" barrel loss of 2 or 3% in speed vs 24".
Long shot with european caliber : 8x68S [expensive] ... vs 300WM & 338WM.

Gotta laugh at some opinions expressed....

I am a reloader to the core however PPU 9.3x62 ammo was cheaper than any brass I could find, so I bought 200. Their brass is superior to any US stuff I have tried. The ammo is mild compared to my 286gn at 2400fps however I found this ammo is deadly on feral animals over 300kg more than 70 animals worth.... That cheap bullet someone mentioned was so bad, I still haven't recovered one, 100% pass throughs on large feral horses shot in the chest! They get about 2250fps in my Tikka & due to the mild velocity penetrate deep & leave massive blood trails!! Both my rifles get better than 1.5moa at 100m, I have used a lot worse ammo. The beauty of the 9.3 is low velocity aids consistent bullet performance/penetration!

I don't know how many of those Mannlicher stocked 9.3s Iv'e seen for sale but I have always been put off by the short barrel and light weight, I'm not recoil sensitive but already have a few Mules in the closet,,perhaps a range report will help sway my decision to own one of those beauties

I own one and they are not as light as they look. The stock is what I would describe as ro bust. Compared to my Mannlicher Schoenauer 1905 in 9x56 which weighs 6.75 lbs the CZ is rather portly at 9 lbs with scope sling and full load. It actually recoiled less than the 1905. I will say that it is one of the most accurate guns I own. It will shoot Priv ammo at 1.5 inches at 100 yards but handloads Norma 232 grain Vulcan and Nosler 250 grain accubo nd into .75 at 100 yards.

I have a CZ 550 FS and they are rather portly as has been stated. I have not weighed mine but 9 lbs wouldn't surprise me. It is chambered in 7x64 and is the most accurate fullstock rifle I have. A friend has one in 9.3x62 and it too is very accurate.

An awesome reason to own a firearm in my opinion. Be interested in seeing pictures of the one you acquired.

I'll be using the irons until this fall, then I plan on putting a scope on the rifle, hoping to take it on an elk hunt in Wyoming to test it out before deer season opens here in November. I have a bad case of nostalgia and would love to keep it open sights, but I have found my results on animals lean towards magnification

NECG makes a nice peep sight that mounts right onto the rear scope base. It requires a higher front sight but a call to CZ USA can getyou the correct height. Helped me shrink my group sizes dramatically.

I have a CZ 550 FS and they are rather portly as has been stated. I have not weighed mine but 9 lbs wouldn't surprise me. It is chambered in 7x64 and is the most accurate fullstock rifle I have. A friend has one in 9.3x62 and it too is very accurate.

Mine is 10lbs with scope (Meopta Artemis 2000 - steel body scope - new scope but old school engineering). With that scope it weights as much as my scoped .375 H&H. So I started considering taking the 375 hunting instead. But at the moment I'm trying to go lighter.
