What is a reasonable trophy fee for a 60 in Kudu?

Well as Bill Clinton might say, I guess that all depends on what your definition of reasonable is. I prefer the flat fee - regardless the size - type of trophy fee and not the graduated system some use.

The best place in our area is R10,000. They took three at 63"+ last year.

R10,000....thats $1208 US? That is a bloody good price if it's right. What happened to the high price of big kudu?

I will take all the 60 " kudus i can get and shoot them myself for that price !

Those tried and true prices are all right there, don't worry.

"Local" prices VS "International" prices.

Just so you know. :)

I think the flat fee is the appropriate price. Who sits there and measures the animal while it's on the hoof and several PHs I've talked to say judging kudu is the toughest animal to judge. It's just another raquette to make money off a hunter!

It is unfortunately supply and demand ! I prefer a flat fee too ! It is amazing that in other countries hunters would pay outrages prices for trophies . Elk hunts at 10 - 15 k is not unusual. There are outfitters that market these exceptional trophies and the demand for these by hunters push the price up !

$2500 to $3000 sounds about right.

Of course you would. Me first, but he won't be breeding any more if I see him first. :)

BrickBurn I had first deb's here:bighello:.

Give them another 8 years after that and there will be enough to pass around.

Sure, you just have to put in the time and find them.

A little luck and hunting in areas known for producing them doesnt hurt either.

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.
