6.5x55 sweed

My 6.5x55 is a custom intermediate actioned Mauser 98. It has a lovely English Walnut stock and a Shilen barrel. This rifle is set up to shoot lighter bullets as I also have both a 7x57 and 7x64 shooting 175 gr and 170 gr pills respectively.

Its favorite load is 49.3 grains of Vihtavuori N560 with a Barnes 120 gr TTSX bullet. This load chronographs at 2850 fps and shoots half inch groups all day if I do my part.

i also use N-560 in my cz 550 in 6.5x55 with 139-140 gr bullets. the load i shoot is pretty heavy, but safe in the cz 550. i have shot 2.25" three shot groups at 300 yards from the bench. the bottom rifle is my cz 550 in 6.5x55, the top rifle is a cz 550 in .375 H&H.

Members, will it be possible to share your loads of the M96 Military Carl Gustav 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser with me in the use of a 143gn bullet in your loads with the 29.5 inch barrel ???

I have about 1000 rounds of RWS 8x57, I am going to build a 6mm-Sweedmoor
The 6mm Creedmoor /6.5 Creedmoor is well known here in South Africa . It is one of the most use rifles for target /hunting activities.
I am selling/buying fire arms for members on my whatsapp group, the 6.5Creedmoor is the rifle that is selling as used rifles a lot more than any other rifles . The 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser is the rifle that is the most difficult to get my hands on to get hold for a member on my group..there is just not any 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser that I can buy/sell.

Owners of the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser just do not sell them at all.

My advise to you would be to consider a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser

That is lovely!

Gert, how did your loads group? BTW I've often said that the6.5 Creedmor is "just a Swedish Mauser
want to be." My earliest production Sweed was built in Mauser's Oberndorf Factory in 1896. Just before leaving for Africa last year, it put six156 GR. Norma Orex rounds(factory ammo) into less than a 1" group at 100 yards. Like I said back then "not bad for a 128 year old rifle. BTW it set me back a whopping $400.00 sans scope. I think that while many people in the States own Sweed(s), they don't shoot them. The Sweed shooters don't sell them. LOL

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
