Well if you ever get back this way I will let you shoot them back to back. I think you will be surprised. If you can shoot the Lott you will have no problem with the Jeff. The Gibbs and Jeffrey are very impressive at both ends. But I'll take my CZ550 Lott and call it a day. I know MY limit with regards to recoil and getting a subsequent shot(s) on target.
I would LOVE too!Well if you ever get back this way I will let you shoot them back to back. I think you will be surprised. If you can shoot the Lott you will have no problem with the Jeff.
The second shot is half the fun. Getting back up and slamming that second shell home is a rush! Of course you have to do it without dancing backwards...The Gibbs and Jeffrey are very impressive at both ends. But I'll take my CZ550 Lott and call it a day. @zephyr, following your lead, used the Woodleigh manual and rather than using extremes, averaged the charge weights and velocities. Then, calculated the sensitivity of each to charge weight. Used 10lb rifle.
500J ∆FRE/∆chg = 0.41ft-lb/grain
505 ∆FRE/∆chg = 0.44ft-lb/grain
So you can see they are nearly equal. The average charge for the 500J is 114gn and the 505 133gn and this initial difference accounts for 7.5 ft-lb more recoil energy in the Gibbs.
Or you can just use the case volume difference of 16 grains and get 7.04 ft-lbs more for the Gibbs.
Is this significant out of 90 ft-lbs of recoil. Who knows....
