Who has one whats it like recoil wise really interested in this cartridge. My last PH carried one on a P 14 action shot great groups with it off hand would like to have one.

Bart, damnit, if I knew you already had this in mind I would not have even responded to your other post. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

You didnt waste your time 35 bore. Just asking a qwestion about this Caliber.

My first PH in Zimbabwe used one the big stuff. He loved it. What I know is that a good gunsmith is needed to make sure the rebated rim cartriage feeds correctly but it is a big thumper Something like 8000 ft pounds at the muzzle.

You should try to get one. How many people can say they have a 500 Jeffery?

Well at least there isnt anyone here?

I've got a CZ 550 in 500 Jeffery. I shoot 570g TSX's at 2300 fps. I've loaded them up to 2410 but the recoil begins to get brisk. Mine came out of the CZ Custom shop but I had AHR do their the CZ #1 upgrade (cost about $500 extra for straighten and fill bolt, single stage match trigger, and 3 pos M70 type safety). It's my favorite rifle to shoot offhand, and my least favorite rifle to shoot off of the bench (since it's sighted in and my load development is done, I haven't had to shoot it from the bench in awhile). Here's some pics

I want one I want one I want one

That case has a crap neck. It's too bloody short. If it had a neck like the 416 Rigby it would be a pisser.

I use a Lee factory crip die and have no issues. The case was designed to functinon in a non-magnum Mauser action. That's why it looks like a 55 gal barrel lol

That wouldn't be Kirk Mason of Tshabezi Safaris would it?

Nice looking CZ and a damn nice grouping.

Got a picture of one of these barrels?

I'll take a picture of a 270, 375 H&H and 500 Jeffery cartridge side by side and post it. Right now this is all I have. You can see the 500 Jeffery round in the foreground.

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.

Hi Paul,
This is Daniel from Mankazana Safaris.

I saw your post regarding a hunt in Africa. I am sure you have been bombarded with messages and replies from other outfitters, so I will keep this one quick.
