49th Annual SCI Expo in the Twin Cities

Wells Gun Show is nothing missed. It used to be a real good one but now is not worth the travel time to get there
I agree that the gun show is not what it used to be.

I went to that show for many years life member there on the board for some time I now live in Idaho. I will be going to the washington one

Hello Friends,

If any of you are going to the SCI banquets Friday and Saturday later this month, please let me know. We have 4 AH members at our table and room for 4 more. Happy to make you feel at home.

@AfricaHunting.com please re-route my post if in the wrong topic.
Rookhawk has the board of that particular Chapter cleaned up and identified how the funds they raise are used?

When I lived up there I started boycotting it because it seemed the fund raising was mostly directed at sending board members to National at Chapter expense. Questions also came up regarding too many corrupt dealings with vendors.

Hope it's doing better. I really appreciated going to Iowa where they showed slides of funds being used for conservation.

More transparency is always better in my mind and that Minnesota Chapter had none a few years ago.

No idea about your claims or if the chapter is better/worse/same as any other point in time.

All I know is they are a very quiet chapter, I never hear from them. But then I saw this Expo discussed online last year and thought “wow, this is a pretty large chapter, larger than the Chicago and Milwaukee events”.

SCI in general is light entertainment. I’ve brought them critical charitable giving opportunities in Africa and asked for meetings many times, I never could make headway. I wanted to give to the locals in Africa and found out the “blue bag” program is a program where I pay for all the donations in Africa, I then buy very expensive blue bags from SCI also at my expense, and then give them out taking pictures to bolster the SCI reputation. I then looked at the books for SCI and found they are losing money but won’t give up their print media or increase the prices for those that want hard copies. - SCI is pretty set in its ways.

It’s okay, they are pleasant people and they put on nice events I enjoy. I think they could do a lot to be more efficient and more effective as an organization. The age demographic is a big problem for SCI moving forward and I believe the partisanship affinity for Trump is limiting to new member growth. (This coming from someone that has no major issues with Trump, but still believe a “big tent” is in our interests)
