You ever shoot one ? If you live close maybe we can work it out and you'll see is was made by mortal man to be shot by mortal man. Different shooting technique helps , it ain't a 243.

Thanks.Never Shot one but it's got to to be more stout than my 404. I'd love to pull the trigger on a 460 someday

Cem, I would have thought that a 460 would blow right through a lion. Did that bullet travel from stem to stern?

That’s what I thought too but it did not .. It was not a stem to stern shot .i shot him as he was coming out of the bush and was about to turn towards us .i put another bullet in him for safety.. which broke the spine .. after examining we decided the first shot had done the job already .

That would be long drive just to get a sore shoulder, I'm in Minnesota home of the Vikings who always seem to lose the Super Bowl (not that I care) being from Chicago

If you're ever down this way give me heads up. I'm a member of a range that is predominately 1,000 yard benchresters (not me) and you can check your loads further than you'll need.

My Range only goes out to 550 meters, I've nailed the gong a few times but never got serious about developing a target only Rifle. I mostly live in the 200 to 350 meter mere mortals range

My longest shot on a deer was 252 yards, here in WV most are under 100. I'm at the point where I always use a rest even at 25 yards. I've grown close to the Trigger Stick. Since hip replacement it also makes a dandy hiking staff and it's quick to put into action.
Anyway my offer stands, keep me posted on your 404 adventures , even if on ground hogs !
