I have the opportunity to get a 1917 that was sporterized to 458 win for 250 that is currently in a synthetic stock. I would want to at minimum restock it but was wondering if the conversion to Lott is as simple as reaming or if it would require mag work and whatnot? It seems to be fairly well done but I only see one screw hole on the rear of the reciver so I am not sure if there is an existing base for that or if it is missing something it once had.

If the mag is stock, it will need to be stretched. With that said, 1917 magazine boxes are very easy to cut and weld to accommodate the length. A little reshaping of the feed ramp will be necessary as well, but again. Very simple on these big actions. I have a book on the matter somewhere if you need a reference.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
