I’ve done this with other doubles with good results. I loaded a 350 Hornady soft bullet with the same load as my 450 solids hunting load which is 80.0 of RL15. Shot at 2191 FPS

The target pic was a video I could not figure out how to load so took a screen shot. First pair crossed but touching and the next pair shot sxs properly. Grabbed the red dot to a different double on accident hence why it’s so high on the target.

Loaded 20 more to try again. Will shoot at 100 yards now to see if we are really crossing or not.

Would be a fun deer or hog load, or for someone that’s a little more recoil sensitive.

Nice result!
You’re just about right on the old 75% rule.
That is, a double is (somewhat) likely to regulate with a bullet that is 75% of the original in weight, keeping the original powder charge.
Many tout this as some new idea but Holland and Holland did this with their 500/450 NE long ago.

I woke to the first half of this video yesterday morning. When Mac says the first two crossed, they cut the same hole, centers maybe barely 1/4” apart. Super impressive accuracy and not a slow rate of fire.

If Mods don’t move to the Double Rifle section, should still post there if you sort how to post the video. It’s certainly worth a share.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
