4457 Time To Complete?

I completed my own forms (5 of them) before my first safari and they used all of them. They lined out some blank space on the form,signed, and stamped them and I was out of there in 20 minutes.

+1 .... Make a few color copies and laminate them. They're good for as long as you have your firearms.

@Buff-Buster
Are you saying that if one travels to Africa a second time (or anywhere else outside the US) with the same gun/scope combo that you get registered on a form 4457, that it can be used indefinitely and not just the year it was issued?

Yes sir. I got a 4457 on my .338 Win Mag in 2004. I have used the same form on two other safaris since then. I have also done this with other rifles taken to Africa, Canada and Argentina. All the 4457 is for is to document that you TOOK the rifle out of the country and did not purchase it out of the country and are bringing it in.

Wow, good to know! Thanks Buff-Buster and Robert for the input!

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
