.44 Magnum Accident

First it was baby formula, then pet food, but now you should Watch out when buying anything from China, including bright, shiny ammunition.

A man entered a police department and had a S&W 629 (.44 Mag) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo (Chinese made), and the gun smacked him in the forehead. Leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared from around His head, the pictures show what he saw. Bet he never uses Chinese made ammo again! Looks like when the round in the chamber went off, It also set off at least two other rounds in adjacent cylinders. I would have hated to been the one that pulled the trigger on That one!

A really good reason for not buying cheap ammunition!! Or anything from China. They are proving this statement to be true. You get what you pay for.

Yep, that photo has been hanging in our gun club for a while, and has prompted a lot of dumping of chinese ammo!

That's a dirty shame. What a waste of anice revolver. I'll bet that hurt like hell in more ways than one! Is there anything out there they don't make in China that isn't shipped here to the states? For a country with few guns it's amazing our higher powers allow inferior ammo into this country!

We receive Shotgun ammo from all over the world. The ammo from Spain and Italy are good however, Some my shotguns like and some they don't (shells will often stick in the chamber).

Hand gun and Rifle ammo from many countries. I try to look at where it is made before i purchase for hunting.

Now 223 and 308 ammo is being dumped here by China and Russia.

These pics have floated around the S&W forum for atleast two years and I 'think' the Chinese ammo is the latest spin on the explosion.
Personally, I believe that it was handloading at its worst - but just my $0.02!
Hell of a waste of a good revolver not to mention the obvious danger shown.

Damn precarious situation, this can inflict very serious injuries to the shooter ...

Thanks for sharing Jerome

Perhaps the cases got loaded with Bullseye instead of H110! It does happen once in a while.

Looks just like what used to happen when we loaded AK47 ammo with pistol powder to drop in the bush for poachers and others to find back in the 70's!:)

The United States did the same thing in the Vietnam war, except they loaded like one round in twenty with like C-4, so they the commies would keep using that ammo. They figured every round blowing up would give the game away. Who knows how many of charlie got an ak bolt through the jaw.

Steve, we loaded thousands of rounds like that and dropped them liberally in loaded mags, resealed boxes etc...we didn't want the gooks firing anything at us at all without seriously thinking about his mate sans head! :confused:The whole idea was for them to be suspicious of EVERY round! If nothing else, they seldom tried to 'aim' correctly!

Excellent - Love that idea

Back a couple decades ago a friend of mine used to buy "cheap" ammo for his Bushmaster. The ammo was from China, brand name Norinco.

WOW!
So what brand of ammo is made in China anyway?
Ive never seen Chinese commercial ammo..... yet.

I don't think Chinese ammo is available in the US but Norinco guns and ammo are very popular in Canada.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
