I have some Norma African PH ammo loaded with 450 gr Woodleigh bullets, both SP and FMJ, to use in my CZ 550.

Does anyone on AH use or has used these cartridges ? Interested to hear real world experiences on live quarry with them.

Am sure they'll do the job but any information on their effectiveness or otherwise would be welcome.

The 416 Rigby has been used extensively on dangerous game. Norma PH ammo is great stuff. What are you planning on using this ammo for?

Hopefully will go after a Cape buffalo one day, really enjoy this site and hearing real life hunting experiences.

Well either the 400 grs or 450 grs SP will serve you well. The FMJ are for Elephants.

Not 416, but I used the 550 gr FMJs in 450 Rigby for elephant. They did very well. I think the extra weight and slower velocity compared to standard 400 gr will do them well. Just like 550 compared to standard 500 gr in my case. It will make the softs retain more weight and solids less likely to deform. The Norma ammo itself is very good.
